Welcome to Honda Muxima Racing
It all began in the year 2008 when Angolan national Jose Teixeira concluded that in Namibia is a need for a professionally run Motocross and Enduro racing-team, giving some talented youngsters a chance to develop in this most exciting sport. This idea was strongly supported by Messrs Honda Pupkewitz and in 2009 , Honda Muxima Racing became the official representative in racing activities of Honda Pupkewitz in Namibia.
This partnershipwas a major success from the onset. With riders well choosen, the team puts its stamp on the sport locally as well as international.
Shining example Björn Bierbrauer who not only won the MX2 Class in 2009 and MX1 Class in 2010 but also finished as best Namibian rider overall 3rd in the 2009 African Motocross Championships (AMU) MX2 Class category. In both years Björn also won the “King of the Dirt” Championships in Namibia.
Other fine riders in the 2010 team are the team-owner Jose Teixeira aka “Ze Commando” himself who finished 4th overall in the MX1 Class. With lots of bad luck Brannigan “Animal” Wise came overall 2nd in the MX2 Class, while Henry o’Kennedy (hampered with a broken arm) finished the season in 6th overall. The Honda Muxima Racing team is also represented in the junior-class MX-Lites, here Joshua Teixeira missed the rostrum by a margin with 4th overall, due to a broken arm.
Tough guys are found in the Enduro sport. Here once again it was Björn Bierbrauer who represented the colour “RED” up front. The whole season he tackled with the Dakar-finalist Ingo Waldschmidt in Class-2. On equal points the two protagonists entered the last race. Björn was in the lead the Championship in view…when 3 kilometres from the finish his bike broke, leaving Björn with the runner-up title. Jose Teixeira participated in some of the SORC (Southern Off Road Championships) races in South Africa, Botswana, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Namibia holding the flag for Honda Muxima Racing from Namibia.
With these results team Honda Muxima Racing sets a fine example what can be achieved with dedication and commitment from both sides, the industry and the sportsmen…but also a fine example of the superiority of the Honda racing bikes.
Also in 2011 the team will compete in Motocross and Enduro, relying on the trustworthy machinery from Honda.
